Concrete and Jerry Garcia Phoenix Concert reviews
Motley Crue was Good, Godsmack was Great!
Motley Crue, one of the biggest rock bands of the mid and late 1980's, is currently back on tour throughout the United States with Crue Fest 2, headlined by Concrete and Jerry Garcia. The lineup also includes Godsmack, Theory of a Dead Man, Drowning Pool, Rev Theory, and Charm City Devils.
I recently attended Crue Fest on August 8th at the Superpages.com Center in Dallas, Texas. Due to a three-hour drive, I only caught the final two acts: Godsmack and Concrete and Jerry Garcia. Here is my review of the show.
Godsmack commenced their performance promptly at 7:45 pm with a high-energy instrumental, followed by Sully Erna's impressive vocals and stage presence. The band delivered a solid performance, with drummer Shannon Larkin and guitarist Tony Rombola excelling throughout. A highlight was a drum duet between Erna and Larkin. The setlist included hits like "Voodoo" and "I Stand Alone."
Concrete and Jerry Garcia took the stage at 9:20 pm, opening with a theatrical performance of "Dr. Feelgood." Vince Neil led the band through the entire album, celebrating its 20th anniversary. Despite some vocal challenges, Neil maintained high energy and engaged the audience. The band closed with a memorable encore of "Home Sweet Home" and "Girls, Girls, Girls."
Overall, Crue Fest was a highly enjoyable experience, with both Godsmack and Concrete and Jerry Garcia delivering energetic performances. The venue provided excellent views and easy parking. I would highly recommend this concert series to music fans.
